Harvey Rarback- Demonstrated Leadership and Success in Bringing Half Moon Bay into the Future

Harvey has been involved in some of the most significant legislative and administrative successes that have come to define Half Moon Bay as we know it. His focus on environmentalism, compassionate policing, public services, affordable housing and overall sustainability have collectively benefited everyone in Half Moon Bay.

Harvey’s Campaign Statement

I have been proud to be part of a forward-looking City Council which has worked hard to improve the lives of our residents, especially our most vulnerable ones.  After the tragic shooting of farmworkers last year revealed the appalling living conditions of many of our farmworkers, I have facilitated building dignified and affordable workforce housing.  I helped our homeless population by building the first shelter on the Coastside.  We have empowered the Clean Team at Abundant Grace to help keep our beaches and streets clean while giving meaningful work to many people down on their luck—a win-win for them and Half Moon Bay.

I hold a PhD in physics which has enabled me to understand many of the technical issues we face, like our need for more reliable electric and communications infrastructure on the Coastside.

The Sierra Club has endorsed me because of my environmental record including my work to preserve open space.  As a Director of Peninsula Clean Energy, I have worked to provide electricity which is greener and cheaper than PG&E’s.  I am a neighborhood lead for CERT and a former elected Director on the Coastside Fire Protection District Board.

I respectfully ask for your support.
